Recent Quizlet: Languages & Vocab Reviews
It’s great for a free product. You can pay for some great added features, but the same thing still happens on your phone. When you run through your flashcards, swiping right or left to see what you know, it does not keep track if you accidentally shut down the application. It does have a progress save feature when signed in, like the desktop browser, where we can star the cards we want to study. This is an excellent feature. Only thing you can’t do on mobile is edit while studying flash cards.
Yikes. They made the Learn and Test options premium, the ability to type out the answer if you get it wrong, the ability to edit the flashcards on learn, and overall just awful layout changes. Why can’t you reorder the flashcards in a set anymore? The app is plastered with outside ads and popups begging you to pay for premium. Quizlet feels pretty unusable now. I feel disappointed that I’ll have to find another flashcard program now.
Great tool for studying any time you have a few minutes free. Downside: flash cards are limited. Quizlet will not allow you to put a picture in the term section and only one picture in the definition section. Hate that. I want to be able to fully customize my flash cards, but you can’t with Quizlet. And editing your flash cards from a mobile device or tablet is extremely frustrating. If you have may lines of text on a card, it won’t all be visible in edit mode and trying to scroll is a pain.
I used to use quizlet all the time but I can’t buy the package so that I can use the learn mode more all the time. It was helpful when trying to learn vocab in Spanish, but now I guess I will have to go back to paper and pencil. Before the switch I would have rated this app a 5 but not anymore. Now less people have access to what they need to help them learn, because looking at flashcards of Spanish words doesn’t really help me learn well.
I’ve been on Quizlet for many, many years already from my elementary days to highschool, and I always loved the app and used it constantly for tests and pop quizes. However, due to the recent update, some of the features that were available to public has now been blocked by a paywall for reasons I don’t know, and I absolutely hate it. I can just pay for it, but I don’t want to pay something that has been perfectly free before, the paywall is there to offer something better than the free version.
Great before the paywall. I absolutely loved this app for studying, honestly I wouldn’t even mind a few ads, people have got to make money somehow. Instead, they put every good feature behind a paywall. Who has the money for a subscription to study?? The learn feature was my best friend and now you can’t hardly use it before you get a message telling you to buy premium. I’m sick and tired of apps making everything subscription based. Ruined the whole experience.
They’ve managed to turn a great flashcard application into sheer garbage with the newest user interface. I’m moving the rating down from a 5 to a 2. Looking for a replacement now. Old review for previous interface -> Very solid package. The only thing I have noticed is the pinyin audio can get confused. It would also be nice if we could have 3 slots. I am studying Chinese and it would be nice to have English, simplified Chinese and pinyin in individual slots.
This was so helpful for me throughout undergrad, and I wouldn’t have had the money to pay for it. Putting the most useful feature behind a paywall is a huge disservice to the low-income high school and college students who most need this app. I agree with all the people switching to Anki – Quizlet is no longer worth it! I’ll be switching as soon as I recreate my sets.
I’m a longtime user of Quizlet. It was my favorite app years because of the Learn feature. However, the newer Learn feature has changed for the worse. The ‘old’ version of Learn would quiz you on a card you got wrong until you answer it correctly Twice. Additionally, you can’t track your progress like before as you’re going through the cards. With this newer Learn feature, I feel like I’m learning at a slower pace. Please bring back the old version of Learn! 🙏
Love this app. I could look up things i don’t know, make my own study sets so I could take them wherever I go on my cell. Easy to use and you could customize your sets even print them out if needed. I could test myself to see if I know my material. The best app so far. Update: When I hit the learn mode an error always pops up. I deleted the app and downloaded it again but the error still pops up. I use the learning mode more then the other mode so could you fix the issue.
